Coming April will be 3 years since Yasumi saw its first daylight! In these 3 years I've worked on Yasumi mostly in my spare time and can tell you that quite some hours have been consumed.

But, it was not only me of course: many contributors have helped to improve, expand and fix Yasumi in the course of these three years. A few fun facts:

These numbers are a mere fraction of other, larger Open Source initiatives, however I truly never thought Yasumi would be downloaded over 76K times. Long live OSS !

This first blog post is the first in - hopefully - many to keep you up to date about the progress of Yasumi. Most communication and interaction takes primarily place on Github mostly about issues and PR's. With this new blog, I'm hoping to share information about releases and future features of Yasumi with this different channel.

v2.0 - PHP7

Heads up! v1.8.0 will likely be the last release to support PHP5.x. PHP7 has been out for a long time and Yasumi can definitely benefit from the new features in PHP7.

As always a big thanks to all the contributors and don't hesitate to log any issues, or even better submit PR's!

Cheers!
